Allergens vs. Sensitivity
Allergens are defined as any substance that
the immune system creates antibodies in response
to.
Sensitivities are defined as any substance that
you lack the enzymes to properly process & digest.
Allergies are commonly associated with runny
nose, hay fever and chronic sinusitis. This is
associated with a "histamine" reaction. This
type of allergy in known as an IgE response.
There are several other Immune responses
that contribute to ones overall health. IgG immune responses make up
about 70% of total antibodies. These are delayed responses, meaning they
take up to 4 days to produce an effect. The effect is cumulative, meaning
they add together and produce an immune response. These are responsible
for a vast array of conditions linked to food allergy.
Another major contributor to an allergic response is secretory IgA. This makes
up our immune system in our GI tract. Disruption in this system leads to "leaky
gut" , indigestion, GERD, and a host of different GI symptoms.
At Rockford Wellness & Diagnostic Center we will help discover the
allergenic agents and remove them safely. At the same time, help to restore
gut.
